Mechanicsville Virginia Chiropractor – For the past several years I’ve been recommending a handful of supplements to anyone trying to speed their healing and decrease inflammation (which increases pain). My approach has been to make the strong recommendation on the treatment plan and then let folks get what they want at the store. The problem is most people intend to buy something but never make it to the store (not hard to believe).
My focus has been on subluxation correction and I intend to stay that way. But I have become convinced that most people who eat the “standard American diet” (like me) have a constant baseline inflammatory reaction in our bodies. Some people (like me) have not suffered obvious pain syndromes, due to this, but others are miserable. The inflammation contributes to and triggers everything from simple (but nagging) aches and pains, to allergies, migraines, chronic fatigue and associated pain syndromes. Ultimately disease processes start if this goes on too long. If someone has a constant state of inflammation my adjustments will not get the long lasting pain relief they should get (because healing is hampered). Nor will the adjustments hold for as long. It is just a fact and I have come to accept it.
Lately I’ve been hampered by some bad low back pain, due to the repetitive nature of my job (lots of leaning over patients the exact same way, over and over and over). I’ve never had persistent back pain. Imagine, a chiropractor with back pain?! Anyway, I have always gotten adjusted through the years and I made sure to get more special attention for my new pain. This “new pain” would almost drop me to the floor at times when I was adjusting (did anyone see this?). I also used my low level laser therapy. Did I forget stretching and rehab? Nope. Have I dropped the ball with anything? Yep. I have not been regular with supplementation. Without a doubt all of the above helped and things did not get worse. But I decided to really get dramatic about reducing inflammation. Well I started back on my supplementation and started a 21 day purification regimen (feels more like a fast to me). Not a thing was going in me that was inflammatory or acidic (almost nothing, I still had my coffee, though drastically reduced). Would you believe 2 1/2 days in and the pain almost turned off. I’m still doing the purification so things are very early, but I’m so darn impressed and happy to feel this well! I can stop taking 5 Advil a day just so I don’t hit the floor (mind you pain was still at an 8 when I moved wrong)! Needless to say, I’m impressed.
Well I’m happy to announce I’ve taken the leap. I will now be carrying some supplements and herbs in my office primarily to help with nerve, bone, and muscle healing as well as immune help.
