Flu Vaccine Failure: NBC News clip

nurse-with-hypodermic-200-300Mechanicsville Virginia Chiropractor – Many patients are aware I’m skeptical about vaccines.  Honestly I’ve softened on the issue over the years.  I’m still skeptical and remain unconvinced they do what we are told they do as a whole.  Maybe, just maybe, there have been specific vaccines that have helped historically.  But the shear number of vaccines children are expected to endure is unbelievable to me.  Then to consider the illnesses we are asked to vaccinate against (like the chicken pox for children) leaves me feeling like it is primarily a money making opportunity.

I fear I’m coming across as a wing nut.  A post against the prevailing wisdom in regards to cholesterol and hint at money driven motives last week.  Now I’m actually showing my hand with something as sacred at vaccines!  Please forgive me.  It is an important issue and like I said, I’m much less militant now and have become more nuanced about the issue than I used to be.  That being said, it is complicated and the choice to vaccinate should be weighed carefully.

The following is a clip from NBC news on this year’s flu vaccine.  I think it is remarkably and refreshingly honest when describing the success of the vaccine.  However it is maddening how in the face of such evidence they still can’t resist saying we need to get vaccinated!  Amazing.  Check it out.
